OptionsVisual Systems Options1. Single screen: One screen and one LCD projector directly in front of the simulator. The system retains the same quality of image as the tri-screen system and is designed for the training market. Operation of this system is the simplest of the available options, with the lowest ongoing cost. Despite meeting aviation authority and legislative requirements, the system does have a minor parallax issue discernible when using the runway. Simulator footprint: 3 – 4m (h) x 4m (w) x 4m (l) 2. Tri-screen system: Three flat boards using three LCD projectors integrating to give one continuous image. High fidelity 180º horizontal field of view provides wraparound visuals. Despite meeting aviation authority and legislative requirements, the system does have a minor parallax issue discernible when using the runway. Simulator footprint: 3 – 4m (h) x 4m (w) x 4m (l) 3. Curved screen: With the same footprint as the tri-Screen, the curved screen also uses three DLP projectors integrating to provide a continuous image. A higher-fidelity image with a reduced parallax issue. The 180º horizontal field of view provides wraparound visuals. Simulator footprint: 3 – 4m (h) x 4m (w) x 4m (l) 4. Immersive screen: A continuous curved screen using three DLP projectors which integrate to provide a single image. This screen requires a larger footprint location. This system does not have a discernible parallax issue. Simulator footprint: 3 – 4m (h) x 6.5m (w) x 6.5 (l) 5. Collimated system: These systems are acquired from third parties and require significant software and system integration. The costs vary depending on the system selected. Simulator footprint: 3 – 4m (h) x5m (w) x 5m (l) |
